Democracy has become a mantra used to associate itself with "Liberty, Equality and Fraternity". It has become an instrument for some democratic governments (not necessarily their people), seeking to protect and expand their own national interests, to get on the democracy bandwagon and invade countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq with the intent to replace regimes such as Saddam Hussein and the Taliban with democracies. That Democracy automatically brings Liberty, Equality and Fraternity to all is a myth.

The post "Reading another's mind" explained how the forces of logic and emotion convert a good, honest, loving man to Maoism. The example given was theoretical and rather benign compared to reality. Today's news gives two stark real world stories which demonstrate the same, with the added harshness of reality.

Last year people of Honduras and Iran took to the streets in protests. In the case of Honduras the people took to the streets in support of a military action to depose President Zelaya. In the case of Iran the people were protesting the reelection of President Ahmadinejad. Today the people of Thailand and Kyrgyzstan have taken to the streets in new protests.

The post "Matter, Life, Intelligence and Consciousness" suggested that Life, Intelligence and Consciousness are properties of matter that manifest themselves only under certain arrangements of matter. In a subsequent post "A train of thought" I quickly got into argument with a couple of people on the World Wide Web, presumably Hindu, who argued that Consciousness preceded Matter, Life and Intelligence and that Consciousness was God.
