The Human Genome Organization (HUGO) has found evidence that suggests that "Asia was populated primarily through a single migration event from the south". See http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8406506.stm.
This reminded me of the Phoenicians. Starting from what is today Lebanon they populated the Mediterranean. So did the Greeks. The following map shows the settlements of Phoenicians and Greeks.

The question that comes to mind is: What about the countries in between, countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq? Countries between the Asian migration and the Phoenician migrations? If these countries cannot map to the Asian or Phoenican migrations, what are their origins?
